GIVEAWAY :Addicted to you by Collina Brennan

Brennan - Addicted to You hires.jpg
Goodreads
Publishing date: June 25th 2013
Publisher: Self Published
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Synopsis

When twenty-one-year-old Leah Carter's latest one night stand burglarizes her apartment, her roommate forces her to attend therapy for sex addicts. Leah insists she isn't a sex addict; she just doesn't do relationships. After all, sooner or later, everyone lets you down.

At first, the group sessions are little more than an education on how to be promiscuous. Until she meets the newest addict—blue eyes, killer body, and a smile that tempts relapse.

Psychology student Will McLean is posing as a fellow addict while researching a case study on unusual addictions. But the more he learns about Leah, the more certain he is that his desire to break through her walls and unearth her secrets has nothing to do with his assignment.

As the uncertainties spike alongside the sexual tension, the only thing Leah knows for sure is that falling in love would be disastrous. Too bad love might be one addiction she can't kick

Teaser
Leah hated Thursdays. Specifically, she hated what she was forced to do on Thursdays—a program called ‘Heal the Heart, Save the Body,’ which was a convoluted way of saying ‘therapy for sex addicts.’
Despite her roommate’s insistence, Leah did not have a ‘sex problem.’ So she liked the occasional one night stand. So what? She was twenty-one and single. There was nothing wrong with wanting to make the most of it.
Yet here she was, preparing for another session where she’d have to listen to some old guy attempt to teach a room full of so-called sexual deviants the skills to function in a civilized world.
Because left to their own devices, they wouldn’t be able to resist the primal urge to hump everything that moved. Obviously.
Who decided sex was an addiction anyway? Or that someone should need therapy to “fix” it? Sex was good for you. It was a de-stresser. If it wasn’t, then you were doing it wrong.
She made a face at the platter of cookies set on an uneven seat a few feet away. She had tried one of them a few meetings ago, and it had nearly broken her tooth. They were sturdy enough to survive a nuclear apocalypse. They were cockroach cookies.
Maybe that was the key to these therapy sessions—to knock everyone out with stale confections so they were incapable of having sex.

Driven tour and Giveaway !!!!

Driven (The Driven Trilogy, #1)Driven Review:
4.5 stars

Genre: New Adult Romance

Steam Level: Super hot

Driven contains a bit of an exhausted theme (but a theme that I LOVE non the less) of arrogant and controlling billionaire meets a normal every day girl and decides to claim her for himself. It is done well and I loved the unique backdrop/setting of this story. It takes place in California where the hero Colton Donovan is a race car driver and Rylee works for a non-profit organization that helps orphaned boys. It was emotional and heart wrenching to see the work that Rylee does with these poor boys and I loved the scenes where Colton stepped in to help.

Rylee has rebuilt her structured world after it fell apart a couple of years ago but now everything she’s put back together is threatening to be torn down again. I liked Rylee, she is confident but vulnerable and she is doing her best to just keep moving forward. My only complaint about her is that she’s trying too hard to be what she thinks Colton wants, to keep him attracted to her, it bothered me she didn’t want to just be herself. She is so confused by Colton and his mixed signals.

“He gets me so worked up. So angry. I can’t figure out what I want to do more, punch him or fuck him.”

“He’s edgy and reckless and you want to go along for the ride hoping to get a glimpse of his tender side that breaks through every now and again. The bad boy with a touch of vulnerability who leaves you breathless and steals your heart.”

Colton is the ultimate in damaged but controlling alpha male. We learn a couple of his secrets in his this installment but he is still very much a mystery for the most part. He drove me a little crazy with his indecision and contractions’ over Rylee: I want you, I don’t want you, I want you but I will destroy you, etc. He really battles with himself over Rylee, but since the story is told in first person through Rylee we never get to see exactly why he can’t make up his mind. My favorite thing about Colton? His dirty mouth!

“I want to take my time with you, Rylee. I want to build you up nice and slow and sweet like you need. Push you to crash over that edge. And then I want to fuck you the way I need to. Fast and hard until you’re screaming my name. The way I’ve wanted to since you feel out of that storage closet and into my life.”

This book is impressively well written expect for a handful of typos. K. Bromberg has definitely grabbed my attention as a debut author and I will without a doubt be reading the rest of this series and anything else she writes. Be warned that this does end on a fairly painful cliffhanger!

A few part of the book are little slow and a lot of what happens if fairly predictable, but if you loved the Crossfire or 50 Shades book I have no doubt that you will enjoy this one as well.

I’m living it.
I’m done with the God of all Hotties.
I’m going to give my heart to the boy who I think deserves it.
The boy whose kisses are hotter than molten lava.
The boy who offered me the key to his heart.
The boy who asked me to Homecoming in a big, sexy way.

There are so many things to look forward to.
Parties at the Cave. Homecoming festivities. Drama Tryouts. Shopping trips to NY.
But things aren’t always as perfect as they seem.

I find out that my best friend has been keeping a secret from me.
Not that I can blame him.
I have secrets too.
But, for now, I’m going to pretend I’m just a normal girl.
I’m going to pretend he’s not still out there.
I’m going to pretend he’s not getting desperate.
I’m going to pretend I’ll never see him again.
But, I will.
And this time, I might not get away.

Excerpt

When I get back to my room, I text Dawson.

Me: Tonight was really fun. I heart you.

He calls me right away. “Is hearting me close to loving me?”
“Maybe. You swear you're over Whitney?”
“I swear.”
“Then I think I need another goodnight kiss.”
“I’m on my way.”
I crack the window, letting in the chilly night air, then run into my closet, using my phone as
a flashlight and jumping over the pile of text books that are scattered across my floor.

I throw on a soft knit nightie as I hear my window open and shut. I grab a cashmere blanket
off my chair, wrap it around my shoulders, and walk toward my bed where Dawson is diving
under the covers.
“It's cold out,” he whispers.
I slide under the covers, wrapping him up in the blanket with me.
He's a little tipsy and looks really tired. “Are you tired?”
“Very, are you?”
“Yeah.”
“So you just wanted a goodnight kiss, huh, Keatie?”
“That and . . .” I run my hands through his hair, stalling. Then I decide to be fearless and go
for it. “I wanted to tell you something.”
“And what's that?”
“I wanted you to know that I more than heart you, Dawson.”
I can feel him smiling as he kisses me. “Hearting me is good enough.”
“No, it's not, and it's not how I feel.” I kiss the side of his neck, just below his ear, and finally
say it, “I love you, Dawson.”

Waiting On Wednesday #5

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the SpineEach week, bloggers spotlight what upcoming release they’re eager for. Here’s mine:

So today WOW is going to be a little different... I am going to put in a excerpt because that was what drew me into the book. The synopsis is a bit boring. And at the bottom of this post there will be a GIVEAWAY

inhale, exhalePublishing date:  May 7th 2013
Publisher: Self Published
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance (Academic/ College)
Synopsis:

Jillian had a plan: celebrate the end of her first year of college with an amazing summer full of beaches, barbecues  and bonfires. When her mom insists she needs a summer job, and her boyfriend spends more time with his band than with her, Jillian’s plans go down the drain.

Grant had a plan: finish his Masters, get a great job at Google, and get the hell out of Georgia. He might be giving up some of the fun of his youth, but he knows his all work and no play method would be worth it when his dreams came true.

But things never go according to plan.

When temptation brings them together and tragedy tears them apart, Jillian and Grant will be forced to choose: fight for their dreams, or fight for each other.

Here’s the excerpt:

The laughter, clinking of glasses, and music from the juke box faded away. I could only hear the whooshing of my own heartbeat. I swallowed hard. Grant’s eyes lowered to watch the movement of my neck, and I imagined what it would be like for him to kiss me there like in my dream. To trace the line from my jaw with his finger or tongue down to my clavicle, dipping into that tiny hollow.

I forgot to breathe.
My leg grazed his, with just the tiniest amount of friction. I didn’t take my eyes off him, and I could see his own widen almost imperceptibly. His hand slipped under the table next to mine, hovering. He never touched me. I could feel the heat from his hand like a furnace. He was waiting for permission, a sign that I wanted and accepted his touch. My hands stayed glued to the seat beside me, but I lifted up onto the balls of my feet, causing my knee to bump into his awaiting hand.
It took but seconds for his large, strong hand to clasp the top of my leg, the pad of his thumb brushing along the soft skin inside my thigh. I looked around the table, but everyone was deep in their own conversations, and no one was paying us any attention.
Neither his hand nor my leg moved for a long time. Just the tiny swipes of his thumb, causing my breath to hitch. We didn’t look at each other as to not draw attention. He chatted casually with people at the table, while I was drawn tighter than a bow.
Finally, after an excruciatingly long time, he began to move his fingers. He ran his thumb in tiny circles on the inside of my thigh as his fingers brushed behind my knee, making a painstakingly slow ascent upward. One millimeter at a time.
Time stood still and the room around me blurred. He was still an inch or two below the hem of my shorts, but I felt like he was touching me at my core. Goosebumps rose along my skin, and I shivered.
Grant must have taken that as a good sign, because he began to very slowly—agonizingly slowly—inch his fingers further up my thigh. My muscles tightened in anticipation, knowing this was wrong but wanting nothing but his touch.  He made his way to the hem of my tiny shorts, sliding his fingers back and forth against it. Inside my thigh. Outside my thigh. Inside. Outside. In. Out.
My vision blurred, and my eyes slid shut with pleasure. I bit my bottom lip to contain the groan that threatened to escape my lips.

And be sure to check out the giveaway to get one of the very first print copies of the book!!

Aleatha Romig Day! Giveaways, Reviews, and More!

**GIVEAWAY at bottom of post**

We have declared today, Aleatha Romig Day on Books Vs Boys Blog. Aleatha Romig has given a whole new meaning to the phase “all actions will have consequences” and who has all but invented the term MIND FUCK.

Aleatha Romig’s Consequences series will contain 3 books:

Consequences

Purchase --> Kindle I Paperback

Truth

Purchase --> Kindle I Paperback

Convicted – Expected release date late 2013 or early 2014

You can see Debbie’s exciting and emotional review of Consequences HERE

Now for our Never Before Seen Review of Truth:

My Rating: RAPE ME NOW!! (5++ Stars)

Steam Level: HOT

After the jaw-dropping, wall punching ending of Consequences I had absolutely no idea what to expect going into Truth. Any premonitions or ideas I had hiding in the back of my head were pretty much tossed out the window and grinded into the pavement by Tony’s foot within the first few chapters.

This review is definitely going to be more about feelings and emotions than plot because I don’t want to give anything away to anyone who hasn’t read either Consequences or Truth. And there is SOO much to potentially spoil. So with that said, If you haven’t read Book 1 – Consequences (what the hell are you waiting for?) I would recommend not reading any further in this review (just skip down to the fun stuff), you have been warned!

Truth contains even more backstory about Tony and his father and I loved it. It lets us delve even deeper into Tony’s mind and what make him tick, what has made him who he is. And pay close attention because there are actually clues that foreshadow some of the HUGE revelations that come later on. And I mean HUGE jaw-dropping, wall punching revelations and events just like what we saw with the ending in Consequences.

I HATED Tony after Consequences, like hated in that I thought he deserved to rot in a jail cell for the rest of his life and never see the light of day again, and if rats slowly gnawed away at him until he bled out or died from a disease, well that would be okay..… But then I read Truth. In Truth we see a Claire that is able to stand up for herself (to an extent). In Truth we see a Tony that has had growth, a Tony that is willing to bend (even if it’s just a tiny bit), we see a Tony that actually has a heart (although it is yet to be seen how whole his heart actually is). My emotions concerning Tony we toyed with, my world was flipped upside down, then righted only to be flipped upside down again. My feelings for Tony by the end of Truth are best summed up in these two lines form the book:

“Love and hate are very close emotions. Both intense and consuming.”

“Could it be possible to hate and love someone too?”

As I mentioned earlier, Claire does develop a smidge of a backbone, but as with everything else that involves Anthony Rawlings it has it limits. I like Claire but I will never truly understand her thoughts or actions and that’s probably because I‘ve never been anywhere close to the situation that she has endured. My feelings for her actions occasionally resembled the same ones I have for Tony: Love Vs Hate. Especially where Harry was concerned, did I want it to happen? Do I like Harry? Is he a better choice? Ah! Even after knowing how all of Truth plays out I still don’t know the answers to those questions.

And yes, we are left with questions at the end, but we also receive a lot of answers. Occasionally those answers just lead to more questions, but that is what I love most about this series. It’s completely off the grid of predictability, it’s plot is an earthquake of actions and consequences, it is layer upon layer upon layer of pure genius.

The ending of Truth! Ah! It is JUST as shocking as the ending of Truth, but I wouldn’t call it a cliffhanger. It leaves all of the characters in a place that I can live with until the final installment of this trilogy, Convicted, is released.

If I had to describe Truth in 3 words they would be: Brilliant, Evocative, and of course Mind-Fuck

Now go pick up this book! My review does not do this series justice, It is a ride and journey that can only be discovered by reading it for yourself.

GIVEAWAY and Review: Rules of Entanglement by Gina L Maxwell

**GIVEAWAY at bottom of post***

My Rating: Date Me Now! (4.5 stars)

Genre: Contemporary Romance

 Steam Level: Super Hot!

Combine a Hawaii resort setting, tequila body shots, and one controlling MMA Fighter and you have one sexy read! This books opens up a like a great romantic comedy. When Vanessa’s best friend and Jackson’s sister comes down with and awful stomach virus and can’t make it to Hawaii the week before her wedding to plan it, Jackson and Vanessa are forced to pretend to be the engaged couple in order to appease a wedding planner who ‘refuses’ to work with anyone but the actual bride and groom. This leaves the two in a hilarious and awkward predicament.

I love that Vanessa wasn’t a quite push-over. She was sarcastic and outgoing and didn’t let anyone intimidate her. She had an extremely rough childhood and harbors some gut-wrenching secrets, but she doesn’t let it show and has tried her best to put her past behind her and move forward. She does this by creating a set of rules to live by to protect herself and her heart. And then she meets Jackson…who threatens to break every single rule she has…

Jackson is an incredibly hot mix of contradictions: domineering and easy going, sweet and controlling, Fighter and Surfer. Need I say more????

How I saw Jackson and Vanessa:

The chemistry between the two is full blast from the beginning, but I love the slow change in their feelings from dislike to lust to respect to eventually love throughout the story. The sarcastic banter between them had me cracking up multiple times. And boy can Gina Maxwell write a sex scene! WOW! I love stories that contain humor, hot sex, and a strong plot and this book delivered on all three.

There were a few parts that were a little slow; the book covers only one week in time so you get a lot of details. That being said some of the details were delicious! The story does have one of my pet peeves: Lack of communication or the withholding of information is one of the main causes of drama between the hero and heroine. However, I will say that it didn’t bother me nearly as much as usual and the author handled it well.

Favorite Quote: “She’d played a game with a dragon and ended up pinned beneath his massive body as he prepared to breathe fire.”

Overall a fun, hot, quick read that I highly recommend! This was my first book by Gina Maxwell and it definitely won’t be my last!

GIVEAWAY and Mini Review: Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec

Giveaway at bottom of post!

Seduction and Snacks Mini Review:

My Rating: Rape!

Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance/Humor (18++)

Steam Level: Hot – Super Hot!

This book is freaking hilarious and I LOVED it. It’s very different than most reads and I will warn you that the humor can be dirty and a little obscene at times, but that’s one of the things I loved most. Tara Sevic will take you places you never even thought about going!

Case in point: "Give me a cat over a kid any day. You can open up a bag of Meow Mix, plop it down on the floor next to a bucket of water, go on vacation for a week, and come home to an animal teats so busy licking it's own ass that it has no idea you were even gone. You can't do that with a kid. Well, I guess you could, but I'm sure it's frowned upon in most circles. And if my kid could lick his own ass, I'd have saved a shit load of money on diapers, I can tell you that."

You HAVE to read this book, especially if you've had kids. I literally had to leave my bedroom because I was keeping my husband up laughing. If I EVER think about having more kids, please someone make me go re-read the first couple chapters of this book! Even the chapter titles are funny!

There is a plot to this story, although it is very simplistic and cute. The humor is beyond anything I have ever read and there are some pretty H.O.T bedroom scenes. It was just what I needed after a string of darker, deeper reads. Be warned however, it can be a bit vulgar and you might pee in your pants.

"All the baby books written by women who had the most perfect birth experience in the world said you should talk to your child in the womb. That was about the only piece of advice I took from those things. Every day I told him if he ruined my vagina I would video tape his birth and show all his future girlfriends what happened to your who-ha when you had sex, ensuring that he will never ever, get laid."

I HIGHLY recommend you give this one a try if you haven’t already!!!

GIVEAWAY and Excerpt from Off Sides by Saywer Bennett!

GIVEAWAY at bottom of post!

Genre: New Adult/Contemporary  Romance

Publishing Date: Feb. 21st 2013

Event organized by: AToMR Tours

Book Description:
“I'm not sure what possessed me to do it. Maybe it was the impossible expectations I faced, maybe it was my own self-loathing. But I just knew I needed something different to happen. I needed someone...something...to derail me from my current path. Otherwise, I would become lost...a hollowed out shell of a man. So I did it. I approached her, then I pursued her, then I made her mine. And my life was saved...”

Ryan Burnham is the privileged son of a U.S. Congressman and captain of his university’s hockey team. While he is on the verge of fulfilling his dreams to play in the NHL, his parents want him on a different course. One he is expected to accept for the sake of his family’s public image.

Forced to abandon her music career after the heart breaking death of her parents, Danny Cross exists on the opposite side of the tracks from Ryan. She is struggling to make her own way, working two jobs, attending college part time and volunteering in a homeless shelter. She is on a mission to build her own success.

With a chance meeting, their vastly different worlds collide, causing each to evaluate whether they are truly on the correct path to self-fulfillment and happiness. Can their relationship survive? Particularly when others are against them every step of the way. A lot can happen in just ten short days...

Excerpt:
Ryan is waiting for me and as I get closer to him, I appreciate just how enormously tall he is in his skates. I sure hope he's steady in them because just a few feet from him I launch myself into his arms and wrap my legs around his waist. He's wearing too much gear for my legs to wrap all the way around him but his hands are firmly gripping my ass to hold me in place.  I plaster my mouth to his and he kisses me back with abandon, squeezing me tight.
I move my mouth to his neck and nibble there.  "I'm so proud of you, Ryan."
He groans but says, "Danny...I'm all gross and sweaty."
"I don't care," I say as I work my way back to his mouth. After kissing him lightly there, I murmur against his lips, "I plan on getting sweaty with you a lot in the future."
Ryan whips around and crushes me to the wall with his body and thoroughly claims my lips with his. Eventually, he pulls back and I'm thankful no one has walked by us yet. "You know it makes me crazy in lust with you when you say things like that."
I smile coyly at him and stroke his face. "Ryan...what are we waiting for?" I know my eyes are full of yearning and I hope he understands the depth of it.
