GIVEAWAY and Review: Rules of Entanglement by Gina L Maxwell

**GIVEAWAY at bottom of post***

My Rating: Date Me Now! (4.5 stars)

Genre: Contemporary Romance

 Steam Level: Super Hot!

Combine a Hawaii resort setting, tequila body shots, and one controlling MMA Fighter and you have one sexy read! This books opens up a like a great romantic comedy. When Vanessa’s best friend and Jackson’s sister comes down with and awful stomach virus and can’t make it to Hawaii the week before her wedding to plan it, Jackson and Vanessa are forced to pretend to be the engaged couple in order to appease a wedding planner who ‘refuses’ to work with anyone but the actual bride and groom. This leaves the two in a hilarious and awkward predicament.

I love that Vanessa wasn’t a quite push-over. She was sarcastic and outgoing and didn’t let anyone intimidate her. She had an extremely rough childhood and harbors some gut-wrenching secrets, but she doesn’t let it show and has tried her best to put her past behind her and move forward. She does this by creating a set of rules to live by to protect herself and her heart. And then she meets Jackson…who threatens to break every single rule she has…

Jackson is an incredibly hot mix of contradictions: domineering and easy going, sweet and controlling, Fighter and Surfer. Need I say more????

How I saw Jackson and Vanessa:

The chemistry between the two is full blast from the beginning, but I love the slow change in their feelings from dislike to lust to respect to eventually love throughout the story. The sarcastic banter between them had me cracking up multiple times. And boy can Gina Maxwell write a sex scene! WOW! I love stories that contain humor, hot sex, and a strong plot and this book delivered on all three.

There were a few parts that were a little slow; the book covers only one week in time so you get a lot of details. That being said some of the details were delicious! The story does have one of my pet peeves: Lack of communication or the withholding of information is one of the main causes of drama between the hero and heroine. However, I will say that it didn’t bother me nearly as much as usual and the author handled it well.

Favorite Quote: “She’d played a game with a dragon and ended up pinned beneath his massive body as he prepared to breathe fire.”

Overall a fun, hot, quick read that I highly recommend! This was my first book by Gina Maxwell and it definitely won’t be my last!

GIVEAWAY and Mini Review: Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec

Giveaway at bottom of post!

Seduction and Snacks Mini Review:

My Rating: Rape!

Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance/Humor (18++)

Steam Level: Hot – Super Hot!

This book is freaking hilarious and I LOVED it. It’s very different than most reads and I will warn you that the humor can be dirty and a little obscene at times, but that’s one of the things I loved most. Tara Sevic will take you places you never even thought about going!

Case in point: "Give me a cat over a kid any day. You can open up a bag of Meow Mix, plop it down on the floor next to a bucket of water, go on vacation for a week, and come home to an animal teats so busy licking it's own ass that it has no idea you were even gone. You can't do that with a kid. Well, I guess you could, but I'm sure it's frowned upon in most circles. And if my kid could lick his own ass, I'd have saved a shit load of money on diapers, I can tell you that."

You HAVE to read this book, especially if you've had kids. I literally had to leave my bedroom because I was keeping my husband up laughing. If I EVER think about having more kids, please someone make me go re-read the first couple chapters of this book! Even the chapter titles are funny!

There is a plot to this story, although it is very simplistic and cute. The humor is beyond anything I have ever read and there are some pretty H.O.T bedroom scenes. It was just what I needed after a string of darker, deeper reads. Be warned however, it can be a bit vulgar and you might pee in your pants.

"All the baby books written by women who had the most perfect birth experience in the world said you should talk to your child in the womb. That was about the only piece of advice I took from those things. Every day I told him if he ruined my vagina I would video tape his birth and show all his future girlfriends what happened to your who-ha when you had sex, ensuring that he will never ever, get laid."

I HIGHLY recommend you give this one a try if you haven’t already!!!

GIVEAWAY and Review of The Lonely by Tara Brown

 GIVEAWAY at bottom of post!!!

My Rating: Rape!

Steam Level: Super Hot!

Genre: Dark New Adult Romance/Thriller (18+)

“It’s what I call The Lonely. It creeps up whenever I’m uncomfortable. It freezes me up. I feel it enter new places with me, like it’s in the bag I packed. The broken bits of whatever it is inside of me, the lack of trust maybe, have never healed. Nineteen years of life, almost twenty, and I can’t get past it. It’s part of who I am.”

The author mentioned ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay as the theme song for this book and I whole heartedly agree.

I had a love/hate relationship with this book, but in my case the feelings were so intertwined that they I couldn't separate one from the other. So, 5 scorching stars for the knock your socks off emotional intensity of this book.

There really isn’t a whole lot I can say about the plot without giving anything away. You need to experience the ride for yourself. I don’t know how to explain the raging emotions that were going through my head as I read this. It was like trying to follow a path, but the path was really more like a roller-coaster throwing me upside down and off cliffs. There were many WTF? and wait…what??? moments during this book.

The story opens with the main character and her best friend moving into the dorms to begin their freshman year of college. For the first few chapters you are wondering what the hell is wrong with this girl and what happened to her to make her be this way.

“I can’t help but wonder I there was ever love and peace inside of me? Was I always so filled with fear and pain? Was there ever a time when someone held me in their arms and made me feel safe? Was I always scared of cologne and touching?”

I really felt for and liked the heroine, I can’t say that I could relate to her or understand her choices though because I can’t imagine the person I would be if I’d been through what she has. She is broken, but strong and full of self-preservation. All she wants to be is normal. But what is normal, really?

WARNING: Be prepared that just when you think you know the direction this story is taking, your world will be flipped upside down!

This is a romance, but….not. There a happy ending complete with an epilogue, but it’s a dark and ugly journey to get there and at times you will be wondering which end is up. I hope I have intrigued you enough to give this book a try for yourself!

My casting for the main characters:

The Lost Boy by Tara Brown is a companion novel that will be coming out later this year! Be sure to check it out!

Review of Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

My Rating: Date!

Steam Level: Super Hot!

Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance/New Adult

I wasn’t able to write this review right away because my emotions upon finishing it were all over the place. I was pissed off, confused, happy, and honestly didn’t know what to feel, but I think that was part of the draw of the story for me. I even hesitate to rate the book a ‘Date’ because the emotions and actions that it contains are really better described as a ‘rape’ rating! It is not your normal blissful love story, but I knew that going into it and was okay with that. There are plenty of heart stopping passionate moments, but there are even more jaw dropping moments that will have you spewing a string of cuss words. You will have hated and loved each character by the end.

Deuce is the president of a motorcycle club and Eva is the daughter of the president of a rival club. Between the drama this causes and the age difference between the two be ready for angsty and messed up ride.

The relationship between Deuce and Eva spans their lifetime. It was beautiful and emotional. It was volatile and impulsive. It was offensive and revolting. It was love at its best and love at its worst.

The short and sweet prologue had me hooked. I started out really falling in love with Deuce in the first few chapters. He was undeniably attracted to Eva from the beginning but battled with himself to try and keep from doing something he shouldn’t. Unfortunately my attraction to him was short lived, the way he ended up treating Eva and some of the things he did were unforgivable in my eyes. And for the most part Eva just rolled over and let him treat her like shit, I was really hoping to see some EPIC groveling in the end but was left underwhelmed. Eva accepts him back happily with nothing more than a ‘I’m sorry I won’t do it again’. BUT you have to keep in mind that that is the type of lifestyle that Eva and Deuce have been raised in and its all they know.

Eva has her flaws as well, but she is strong and determined to do things her way. I liked her spunk and her personality. There were some obvious things she did that I didn’t like, but, well that’s how she was raised. In this book you really are transported into another world and the rules are different, their society doesn't fit into normal boundaries.

All of the supporting characters were well developed and added to the story. Kimi was awesome and I want her for a best friend. Frankie…there just…aren’t words for how deranged, terrifying, and fucked up he was. My heart broke for Eva every time she was with him and the ending? Gah!! All the boys in the MC clubs were perverse, loyal, and won me over for the most part. I can’t wait to read more about them in the next book.

Does this book have an HEA? Eh, yes and no. Do Eva and Deuce finally end up together? Yes. But, was the treacherous journey to get there worth the end result? I think that answer will depend on the individual reader. I read a lot of dark romance; in fact I prefer them a lot of the time. But this journey took me places I’m still not entirely sure I wanted to go.

If you’re looking for a book that will give your heart an rollercoasters ride, a book that will make you want to throw your kindle at the wall, a book that will you have cringing, swooning, and cussing all on the same page then THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU! Despites some of my rants in this review, I still loved the story and characters and will be recommending it to all my friends that enjoy a darker, grittier love story. And a love story it is, and epic love story that spans a lifetime.

For all of my friends out there that encouraged me to read this: Thank you! I love a book that pushes me outside my comfort zone and puts me into a different world.

WARNING: If you’re offended easily, you might want to pass. This story contains cheating, thousands of foul words, rape, and degrading of women.

Unbeautifuly by Madeline Sheehan will be coming out later this year and will be the story of Ripper and Danny (Decue's daughter).

This unexpected encounter compels Emily to question her decisions, forcing her to make a choice that will destroy friendships, shatter hearts, and forever change her life.

I'm not sure if I liked this book its really hard to decide. I know I know guys your thinking how could you not know if you like this book this book is amazing everyone giving it full star.Well then I guess I'm just weird

But don't get me wrong the book was good and was superbly written. But its just that damn story line  girl has a boyfriend girl meets guy girl falls in love with this guy but still has a boyfriend. Or my all time favorite girl meets boy who is a womanizer prick but when he meets her he miraculously stop his womanizing ways. Im sick to death of reading these kind of stories and I find that most NA stories have these story lines  So the fact that this book has TWO of my book hates does not help it case AT ALL!!
I miss the genre i fell in love with that was so relate-able to people like me. And was soo different from anything the book world has seen. Where is that genre? I miss that genre.
However, just because I don't like this book doesn't mean you wont; most people rather enjoyed it which would explain it massive average rating. Hell in some bit i really enjoyed it as well.

What I liked

The characters:
1)OMG i love Oliva she is like my all time favorite character, she reminds me so much of myself. With that feisty attitude of hers: she is a class A bitch!
2)Gavin oooh Gavin (girls beware of terrible swooning as you read this book) Oh heaven Gavin you are now my new husband. He ticks all the write boxes:
a)his rich
b)his sweet
c)His HOT
How wouldn't love a guy that completely adores you. Emily Emily Emily you are one luck bitch.
3) Surprisingly, I liked Emily I thought she was going to be a whining fool all like: oh my life is hell i have two sexy ass men fighting over me a heavens what am i suppose to do. But she wasn't like that at all she was strong and had such a high level of realism as a character  its like I knew her in real life and we were best of friends. I really liked her..... well apart from her utter stupidity and how gullible she is .... Ops is that counted as a spoiler. Well i guess you will have to read the book to find out what I'm talking about
