Aleatha Romig Day! Giveaways, Reviews, and More!

**GIVEAWAY at bottom of post**

We have declared today, Aleatha Romig Day on Books Vs Boys Blog. Aleatha Romig has given a whole new meaning to the phase “all actions will have consequences” and who has all but invented the term MIND FUCK.

Aleatha Romig’s Consequences series will contain 3 books:

Consequences

Purchase --> Kindle I Paperback

Truth

Purchase --> Kindle I Paperback

Convicted – Expected release date late 2013 or early 2014

You can see Debbie’s exciting and emotional review of Consequences HERE

Now for our Never Before Seen Review of Truth:

My Rating: RAPE ME NOW!! (5++ Stars)

Steam Level: HOT

After the jaw-dropping, wall punching ending of Consequences I had absolutely no idea what to expect going into Truth. Any premonitions or ideas I had hiding in the back of my head were pretty much tossed out the window and grinded into the pavement by Tony’s foot within the first few chapters.

This review is definitely going to be more about feelings and emotions than plot because I don’t want to give anything away to anyone who hasn’t read either Consequences or Truth. And there is SOO much to potentially spoil. So with that said, If you haven’t read Book 1 – Consequences (what the hell are you waiting for?) I would recommend not reading any further in this review (just skip down to the fun stuff), you have been warned!

Truth contains even more backstory about Tony and his father and I loved it. It lets us delve even deeper into Tony’s mind and what make him tick, what has made him who he is. And pay close attention because there are actually clues that foreshadow some of the HUGE revelations that come later on. And I mean HUGE jaw-dropping, wall punching revelations and events just like what we saw with the ending in Consequences.

I HATED Tony after Consequences, like hated in that I thought he deserved to rot in a jail cell for the rest of his life and never see the light of day again, and if rats slowly gnawed away at him until he bled out or died from a disease, well that would be okay..… But then I read Truth. In Truth we see a Claire that is able to stand up for herself (to an extent). In Truth we see a Tony that has had growth, a Tony that is willing to bend (even if it’s just a tiny bit), we see a Tony that actually has a heart (although it is yet to be seen how whole his heart actually is). My emotions concerning Tony we toyed with, my world was flipped upside down, then righted only to be flipped upside down again. My feelings for Tony by the end of Truth are best summed up in these two lines form the book:

“Love and hate are very close emotions. Both intense and consuming.”

“Could it be possible to hate and love someone too?”

As I mentioned earlier, Claire does develop a smidge of a backbone, but as with everything else that involves Anthony Rawlings it has it limits. I like Claire but I will never truly understand her thoughts or actions and that’s probably because I‘ve never been anywhere close to the situation that she has endured. My feelings for her actions occasionally resembled the same ones I have for Tony: Love Vs Hate. Especially where Harry was concerned, did I want it to happen? Do I like Harry? Is he a better choice? Ah! Even after knowing how all of Truth plays out I still don’t know the answers to those questions.

And yes, we are left with questions at the end, but we also receive a lot of answers. Occasionally those answers just lead to more questions, but that is what I love most about this series. It’s completely off the grid of predictability, it’s plot is an earthquake of actions and consequences, it is layer upon layer upon layer of pure genius.

The ending of Truth! Ah! It is JUST as shocking as the ending of Truth, but I wouldn’t call it a cliffhanger. It leaves all of the characters in a place that I can live with until the final installment of this trilogy, Convicted, is released.

If I had to describe Truth in 3 words they would be: Brilliant, Evocative, and of course Mind-Fuck

Now go pick up this book! My review does not do this series justice, It is a ride and journey that can only be discovered by reading it for yourself.
